Eddie Miller was born April 12th,1938. We were a poor family. My father was an alcoholic and never worked much. When we couldn't pay the rent my mother and I went to live in the Salvation Army while my brothers were given to a farmer to help on the farm. The farmer only wanted them in the summer when they could work the fields, thus, in the winter, my brothers were sent to a children's home, where they would be able to return to the farm in the summer after the school year.

My brother Eddie stayed at the school until graduation. Then he went into the military. After the military, he met and married the love of his life, Noel. They had three children together. My brother worked very hard to support them. He was a great father and loving husband, and had a wonderful family. Eddie and Noel were married for 35 years.

Later in his life, he was afflicted with cancer. Noel wanted another poodle. They had a poodle years ago and always had a dog, but with his illness he didn't think he would be able to deal with a dog while Noel worked.

In October of 1996, my brother told Noel he wanted to get a poodle. Noel didn't know why he changed his mind, but was glad he did. Unbeknownst to him, while he was looking at ads for a poodle, his children decided to go together and purchase one for his Christmas present. On Christmas morning, the children gave the poodle to Eddie. The joy that came over his face as he held the little poodle in his hands was indescribable. They named the little white poodle "Angel".

My brother died on March 21st,1997 at the age of 59, after suffering from four different cancers and many heart attacks. Angel has kept Noel company and helped the whole family with the grieving.

I know this is why Eddie wanted Angel, and she has done her job very well. Now I know why he named her Angel. She is an Angel in disguise. And we all love her so very much.
